Local Flooding

Watson Road Park Flooded

Photos taken yesterday reveal the extent of the waterlogging at Watson Road Park. This is the result of heavy rain caused by storm Cristophe which caused severe issues around the north west.

Blackpool and the Fylde coast escaped relatively unscathed compared with residents close to the river Mersey in Manchester and other places like Ackhurst Lodge in Chorley which was almost completely submerged under flood water.

Locals who were out exercising dogs in the park told us that they had never seen it flooded so badly. One gentleman told us he had been visiting the park for over 30 years since he was a child.

A council worker who was emptying the bins mentioned that he found it difficult driving on the pathway whilst doing his rounds.

If you’ve got a picture of a local waterlogged area please inbox us on our facebook page and we might feature your picture in our next article.
