Police appeal after double park stabbing

Reports of crime scene tape excluding members of the public from Watson road park circulated earlier today with rumours that someone had been stabbed accompanying on social media.

Crime scene investigators were spotted at the park around 10am today gathering evidence and taking photographs according to reports made on Blackpool999s emergency services activity updates.

At 5PM today Blackpool police announced an arrest has been made with a 31 year old male being held on suspicion of section 18 wounding.

Lancashire police are appealing to local residents for any doorbell or dashcam footage from the time of the incident.

We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a stabbing in Blackpool.

The emergency services were called at around 6am today to Watson Road, near to St Annes Road, to a report of a disturbance in which two people had received stab injuries.

Officers are attempting to find the two victims who left the scene.

If you witnessed the disturbance, which is believed to have happened sometime between 5.30am and 6am, or have dashcam/CCTV footage from the area, please contact 101 – quoting log 0151 of 4th September 2024.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH and is currently in custody.
